10 Spring activities to enjoy with the family

Do you hear that? That’s the beautiful sound of birds chirping, snow melting, flowers growing, and sun shining. Spring is officially here! Fast approaching is the time to pack up that parka and shed a few layers. After months upon months of hours upon hours spent inside, we’re willing to bet that you're itching to get outside. Lucky for you, we’ve put together a couple ideas for spring activities that you and your fam can enjoy together.

1. Neighborhood cleanup

It’s always a good time to do good! Beautify the area you live in while teaching your kiddos the power of a good deed. Bonus points for the environment!

2. Take a bike ride

Remember those bikes that have been staring at you every time you walked in your garage this winter? Well, it’s finally their time to shine! Grab your bikes, helmets, and kiddos, and head out for a spin around the neighborhood. If spring had a feeling, it would be this one.

3. Blow bubbles

Sometimes the simplest thing can be the most fun! Whether you’re hanging out in the backyard or are headed to the park, bring along a few bottles of bubbles and let your kids go wild. What’s not to love?

4. Cook out in the backyard

Ahhh grill season. The best season of them all. Pick your poison – burgers, hot dogs, kebabs, you name it. Spend a leisurely afternoon outdoors with the family and fill up on all that grilled goodness. Pro tip – bring your munchkin outside so the kiddos have the perfect spot to enjoy their meal!

5. Go bird watching

If you have kids who are interested in nature, this can be a fun (and unique!) experience to share with them. You don’t need any fancy equipment…just grab a couple pairs of binoculars, and see what you can find!

6. Wash the car

Listen. Odds are that your car could use a little TLC. This is what we call killing two birds with one stone! Make some lemonade and snacks, throw on your swimsuits, and head outside to wash the car. Productive and fun!

7. Run through the sprinklers

So many kids have fond memories of sunny days running through the sprinklers at their childhood homes. Let your kids run wild, get messy, and enjoy being kids! It’s impossible not to have fun while running through sprinklers.

8. Go for a hike

Hit the trails with the fam to soak up some Vitamin D and enjoy the nature around you. Bring the Terra along, so you don’t have to worry about your stroller keeping up! Bonus points if you pack a picnic too.

9. Plant a garden

Gardening together, as a family, is such a unique and beautiful thing! It’s a great opportunity to enjoy being outdoors, get your hands dirty, and teach your kids about where their food comes from or how the flowers grow. Start it in the spring, and you can cultivate it all year long!

10. Play hopscotch

Dust off that set of sidewalk chalk, and draw a hopscotch board on the driveway! Not only does it help keep your kiddos active, but it provides plenty of screen-free entertainment.
